Treasure Hunting

For most people, when they hear the word “treasure hunting”, the first thing that would pop on their minds would be gold coins or precious gems. But the fact is, treasure hunting is more than looking for gold or gems. Treasure hunting is like looking for valuable objects and precious things. For example, an old baby rattle, for most people this stuff is junk but for the mother of the baby whom the rattle belongs, it is very valuable. For it brings lots of memories of intimate moments between mother and child.

So where can you hit upon hidden treasures? Where would you go treasure hunting? In the African jungles? Nope, you can go treasure hunting on the vicinity of your own house or street or city. Treasure hunting usually starts at home. Some people would discover famous old books hidden behind the bookshelf or priceless antiques on the attics of their own house.

When you go treasure hunting it does not necessarily mean that you are looking for gold and gems. Even the most common item in your house might be valuable without your knowledge. For example, think twice before you consider throwing away those old water tubes made of copper, for you will earn extra money if you sell those copper tubes to the junk man.

Old warehouses are a good place to go treasure hunting. There was one owner of an abandoned warehouse (the old warehouse used to manufacture wooden clocks) who never thought that the wooden clocks lying all over the warehouse can still be sold. It wasn’t until somebody suggested to the owner that he could sell those clocks on eBay. Much to the owner’s surprise, the owner sold each wooden clock three times their original price. Now that’s what you call “hit a gold mine”.

There was also another incident wherein there was a couple renovating the house that they have recently purchase. When the couple tore down the walls they came upon some old (and yes valuable too) movie posters, they learned later on that the house was once owned by a theater owner. They have sold the posters for over two thousand dollars.

As most people would tend to hide some money and things, they would tend to forget where they hid them or for some, complete forget that they have hidden something. The idea is just to know the things where to look for. Old coins for example have a tendency of being placed under sinks or bills that are hidden on the inside pages of books are likely to be forgotten.

Treasure hunting can be fun and exciting. You will never know what you will find on your attic or behind the closet.

Is Oak Island’s treasure really on Birch Island

Just got some Great news from Keith , He is geting some great press and starting to find some support other then the treasure hunting community.

First Nations translator deciphers ancient stone as a treasure map

By Angie Zinck- Lunenburg Progress Enterprise – October 18, 2006

WESTERN SHORE – You many have heard about the Da Vinci code, but the Ranville code could be what wolves the longest running treasure hunt in recorded history.

Keith Ranville, a First Nations man, has traveled form Winnipeg ot Nova Scotia in hopes of unlocking the secret codes on Oak Island. He says he has done so by re-translating one of the stones found on the island over 200 years ago.

The Oak Island Tourism Society confirms that the stone in question was first found in 1803 by the Onslow Company. Found 90 feet down the Money Pit, the stone was believed to be two feet long and 15 inches wide, weighing approximately 175 lb.

Since that time, it has been said that the inscription on the stone read “forty feet below two million pounds are buried,” as translated by James Leitchi, a professor of languages at Dalhousie University. Some researchers have questioned this translation as Mr. Leitchi was involved in a treasure hunting company trying to sell stocks.

Today, the actual stone is lost. It was used as a hearthstone in two homes on Oak Islnad, but it was moved to a Halifax store front where it went missing when the building was torn down. Its last known location was round the Centennial Pool area.

Mr. Ranville used pictures of the stone to decipher its series of shapes, lines and dots to reveal a new translation that read more like a map.

“I’ve brought some new stuff to the table,” he says, adding that the stone’s etchings could be used to figure out the mystery of Oak Island.

By his translation, much of the digging in the Money Pit area has been a waste of time and money.

“I believe the pit wasn’t meant to go beyond 100 feet,” he says. “I believe it wasn’t meant to go beyond these symbols.”

If one were to take Mr. Ranville’s code and follow it, it would lead you off Oak Island the site of all the treasure hunting for the past 211 years, under the water of the bay and onto the neighbouring Birch Island via man-made shafts.

Bootlegger cache in Lake Erie

<>Due to the fact I am taking my first trip this weekend as a New WAHD. And am going to stop at Lake Erie to do some Treasure Hunting on the way back, I thought I would put out this treasure Story that I found while looking in old archives of newspapers online.

<>The Boat contains a cargo of 300 cases of beer which if recovered intact could bring the lucky finders a small fortune. The beer bottles alone would be almost priceless.

<>And since it was a bootlegger boat, who know what else could be on board, so if your diving in Lake Erie and find a 35 foot boat, don’t be so quick to pass by it with out looking around first and making sure it not the Ada Maybelle.

24 Apr 1925 Fear Crew of Rum Runner Lost

Cleveland O., April 24 - With the finding of the body of George Knaggs, one of the members of the crew on board the Canadian launch Ada Maybelle, which cleared Port Stanley, Ont., Saturday bound for Cleveland with 300 cases of beer aboard, authorities today considered reports confirmed that the rum-runner went down in a storm on Lake Erie Monday with her crew of three Canadians and her supercargo, a Cleveland bootlegger.

Knaggs' body was picked up yesterday morning thirty miles northeast of Cleveland by the tug New York, of the Booth Fisheries Company, Cleveland, according to reports. He had died from exposure in the icy waters, it was believed. A life preserver, stamped with the name “Valkrie”, the former name of the Ada Maybelle, was strapped to his body.

An update and MP3 Interview on the Oak Island Mystery

Hello everyone just got my hands on an interview Keith Ranville did with a radio station. Its only about 11 min long buts it nice to put a voice to a name you have been reading about in my Lost Treasure Hunting Blog. Keith has really come up with the first new idea on the Oak Island Treasure in a very long time, it is very refreshing to get someone that looks at a treasure story from a whole new perspective and not just redo what everyone else has done with no success.

I have put Keith interview up on one of my free ebook download pages go here to get it

Great news to Share with Everyone

As you can see from Stephanie’s blog below we have reached another goal in our business. I am now a full time WAHD, for those of you that don’t know that’s Work at Home Dad. There is not a lot of info out there on them and I do plan to change that.

This now gives me the time I always wanted to do the Treasure Hunting and writing I have always wanted to do. So take a look at Stephanie’s post and let us know what you think. It was a great adventure for us to do it, and working with someone else who has those same goals just makes that feeling continue. (yes that was an offer)

And if your putting together a metal detecting, gold prospecting or treasure hunting trip let me know, I now have a very flexible schedule and can do these things on a moments notice.

Our WAHD Is Proud To Have Reached Internet Marketing Goals

I am proud to say that my husband in now officially a WAHD!

Our goal was to build our online and Internet Marketing business so that he no longer had to work and could join me in our WAH endeavors full-time. And last week, WE DID IT!

It has been magical around our house ever since and our 2 daughters are in heaven to have daddy here working, loving, living and playing! And just in the short time since he quit, we’ve had 5 of the highest income days we’ve ever had thus far.

A lot of people have asked “how” we did it and what I will say is that it was a combination of attitude as well as execution. We chose Adsense, Affiliate Marketing and selling/marketing a small handful of our own digital products, but more than just the mechanical effort (and a lot of backbreaking work on both our parts, I might add) it was “attitude” that made the biggest difference.

We are both strong believers in the power of positive thinking and the impact it can have in your life. At no time did we question whether we would reach our goals, it was simply a foregone conclusion that it would happen. We planned around it, we lived it, and we informed those around us that is was going to happen. And when we took the final step and he closed the door on that chapter of his life, we served notice to the Universe that our time had come. As a result, we have had one phenomenal success after another since the day he quit!

If you have a similar goal, feel free to share your story and make your dreams a reality!
